Recruitment Notification 01/2026

1. Introduction

The Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES) has opened online applications for 254 regular teaching posts under Recruitment Notification 01/2026. The posts are Principal, Vice-Principal, Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), Librarian, Primary Teacher (PRT), Primary Teacher (Music) and Balvatika Teacher. Applications are accepted only on the AEES online portal from 2 November 2026 (10:00 AM) to 22 November 2026 (11:50 PM).

The largest share of openings is for TGTs (102 posts) and PRTs (89 posts), followed by PGTs (27 posts). Pay ranges from Level 6 (₹35,400 entry basic) for PRT and Balvatika Teacher up to Level 12 (₹78,800 entry basic) for Principal. Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an interview (Principal and Vice-Principal) or a qualifying skill test (all other posts). There is no negative marking in the CBT.

This guide goes beyond the headline numbers. It explains the rules that actually decide whether an application survives: the 10-year age relaxation for women in teaching posts, the fact that age concessions do not stack, the one-subject limit within PGT and TGT, the CTET requirement, the CBT cut-off percentages, and the shortlisting ratios for the skill test.

Editorial Note: This article is prepared by the Vacancy Vedika Editorial Team from the official AEES Recruitment Notification 01/2026. Every figure has been cross-checked against the notification. The vacancies are tentative and AEES may revise them or any other condition before the closing date, so please confirm the latest position on the official AEES application portal before you apply. Last reviewed: 2 November 2026.

Do Not Confuse with Contract Posts: Several websites quote monthly figures such as ₹35,750 (PGT), ₹34,125 (TGT) and ₹27,625 (PRT). Those are consolidated pay rates from separate AEES contract or panel advertisements. Notification 01/2026 is for regular posts in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Level 6 to Level 12), which pay considerably more.

Among the other posts, PwBD reservation applies to Librarian (1), PRT (2) and Balvatika Teacher (1). Across the whole notification, the PwBD split is 9 Locomotor Disability, 1 Hearing Impaired, 2 Others and 0 Visually Impaired. Each post also lists the functional requirements (sitting, standing, reading and writing, communication and so on) that a PwBD candidate must meet; a medical certificate confirming this is required at the skill test or interview stage.

Competition Insight: Three posts have a single unreserved vacancy and nothing else: Vice-Principal, PGT History and TGT Marathi. On the other hand, TGT Mathematics-Physics (22 posts, including 6 for SC) and PRT (89 posts, including 38 for OBC) offer the widest entry points.

We have prepared an AEES Teacher Vacancy Breakdown 2026 that maps all 25 post-subject rows against category, PwBD type and the number of candidates likely to be called for the skill test in each.

5. Eligibility Criteria

Every post requires a specific academic qualification with at least 50% marks, and most teaching posts also need a teacher-education degree recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Degrees That Are Specifically Excluded: B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics or Chemistry is not accepted for TGT Mathematics-Physics. M.Com. in Applied or Business Economics is not accepted for PGT Commerce. A diploma in Music does not qualify for PRT (Music). Equivalent qualifications are accepted only where the notification says so, and only with an official equivalence order.

Who Needs CTET?

CTET must be valid and issued on or before 22 November 2026. The qualifying score AEES accepts is 60% for unreserved posts and 55% for posts reserved for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD.

PostCTET Required?
PRTYes – Paper-I
TGT English, Social Studies, Hindi-Sanskrit, Maths-Physics, Chemistry-Biology, MarathiYes – Paper-II
TGT Computer ScienceNot in essential qualification (see note)
TGT P&HE (Male/Female), TGT Art EducationNo
Librarian, PRT (Music), Balvatika TeacherNo
Principal, Vice-Principal, PGT (all subjects)No

Notification Inconsistency on CTET: Paragraph 4.6 of the notification lists Music, Art Education, Librarian and Physical Education as exempt from CTET, while paragraph 14(n) lists Computer Science, Art Education and Physical & Health Education. The TGT Computer Science qualification and its document checklist do not ask for CTET. If you are applying for TGT Computer Science and hold a CTET Paper-II certificate, mention it anyway; if you do not, raise a query on the AEES portal before the closing date to be safe.

For the post-by-post qualification matrix, how AEES converts CGPA to percentage, and the documents that prove each requirement, see our AEES Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2026 guide.

6. Age Limit & Relaxation

The upper age limit ranges from 30 years (PRT, PRT Music, Balvatika) to 50 years (Principal), counted as on 22 November 2026. Every candidate must be at least 18 years old. Women applying for any teaching post other than Principal and Vice-Principal get a 10-year relaxation, the largest single concession in this notification.

PostAge Limit (General)Upper Limit for Women
Principal35 – 50 years50 years (no women's relaxation)
Vice-Principal35 – 45 years45 years (no women's relaxation)
PGT (all subjects)Up to 40 years50 years
TGT (all subjects) & LibrarianUp to 35 years45 years
PRT, PRT (Music), Balvatika TeacherUp to 30 years40 years

Category-Wise Relaxation

CategoryRelaxation in Upper Age
SC / ST5 years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)3 years
Women (all categories) – PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, Balvatika only10 years
PwBD – General / OBC / SC-ST10 / 13 / 15 years
Regular AEES employees – General / OBC / SC-ST5 / 8 / 10 years
Central Govt. employees with 3 years' continuous service in the same or allied cadre – General / OBC / SC-ST5 / 8 / 10 years
Ex-Servicemen, Group A posts – General / OBC / SC-ST5 / 8 / 10 years
Ex-Servicemen, Group B posts (after deducting military service) – General / OBC / SC-ST3 / 6 / 8 years

AEES employees who are also PwBD get an additional 5 years over the PwBD relaxation. The women's relaxation does not apply to a woman candidate who is also claiming PwBD relaxation.

Relaxations Do Not Add Up: If you qualify for more than one concession, AEES grants only the single highest one. An SC woman applying for PRT gets 10 years (the women's concession), not 15. Her upper limit is 40 years, the same as a general-category woman.

Reserved Vacancy Rule: SC, ST and OBC age relaxation applies only against vacancies reserved for that category. Vice-Principal, PGT History and TGT Marathi have only one unreserved vacancy each, so an OBC or SC candidate applying for these posts must meet the general age limit.

Want worked examples for every combination of category, gender, PwBD status and service background, plus the certificate formats AEES expects? Read our AEES Teacher Age Limit and Relaxation 2026 explainer.

7. Salary & Pay Level

All posts are placed in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Entry-level basic pay starts at ₹35,400 for PRT and Balvatika Teacher and goes up to ₹78,800 for Principal, with Dearness Allowance and other allowances payable on top as per applicable rules.

Pay Structure

Principal – Level 12
₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200
Vice-Principal – Level 10
₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
PGT – Level 8
₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100
TGT & Librarian – Level 7
₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400
PRT, PRT (Music), Balvatika – Level 6
₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400

The first figure in each range is the starting basic pay. Gross monthly salary will be higher once DA, House Rent Allowance (which depends on the city class of the posting centre) and Transport Allowance are added. Because AEES centres are spread across metro, smaller-city and township locations, HRA will vary by posting.

Pension Note: The notification does not specify the pension scheme. New entrants to central government and its aided bodies generally come under the contributory pension framework rather than the old pension scheme; confirm the exact scheme and deductions in your offer of appointment.

For an estimated in-hand salary at each pay level after deductions, the allowances that apply at township centres, and the promotion path from PRT to Principal, see our AEES Teacher Salary Structure 2026 breakdown.

8. Application Fee

The total charge is ₹1,000 per post (₹750 application fee plus ₹250 processing fee), plus GST. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from the ₹750 application fee but must still pay the ₹250 processing fee plus GST.

CategoryApplication FeeProcessing FeeTotal per Post
General (UR) / OBC / EWS – Male₹750₹250₹1,000 + GST
Women (all categories)Exempt₹250₹250 + GST
SC / STExempt₹250₹250 + GST
PwBDExempt₹250₹250 + GST
Ex-ServicemenExempt₹250₹250 + GST
  • Payment modes: Debit card, credit card or net banking through the online gateway only. Demand drafts, money orders and postal orders are rejected.
  • Exemption is automatic: the portal applies it once you select an exempted category.
  • Multiple posts: the fee is charged separately for each post you apply for. Applying for PGT and TGT, for example, costs ₹2,000 + GST for a male UR candidate.
  • Refunds: fees are not refunded under any circumstances, including if AEES cancels or reduces vacancies.

Failed Payment? If a card payment shows a status other than "OK", the transaction is treated as cancelled and the amount is reversed to your card within about a week. You must pay again for the application to be complete. A failed net banking payment also has to be repeated. The application counts as complete only when the confirmation page is generated.

9. Selection Process

Selection is a two-stage process: a Computer Based Test (CBT) for all posts, followed by an interview for Principal and Vice-Principal or a qualifying skill test for every other post. For teachers, the final merit list is based on CBT marks alone; the skill test only decides pass or fail.

1
Computer Based Test

Multiple-choice test with no negative marking. 150 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes for Principal and Vice-Principal; 120 questions in 2 hours for all other posts.

2
CBT Qualifying Cut-Off

60% for UR and EWS vacancies; 54% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD vacancies. If too few candidates qualify, AEES may lower these to no less than 55% and 49% respectively.

3
Document Verification

Before the skill test or interview, AEES verifies original certificates, the signed application printout, the NOC (if employed) and the Police Verification Certificate. Candidates found ineligible are not allowed to appear.

4
Interview (Principal and Vice-Principal)

Final merit is CBT and interview in a 50:50 ratio. You must separately score at least 60% (UR posts) or 54% (reserved posts) in both the CBT and the interview.

5
Skill Test (PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, PRT Music, Balvatika)

A chalk-and-board teaching demonstration on a subject topic given by the committee, judged on a Go or No-Go basis. A No-Go result ends your candidature regardless of your CBT rank.

6
Select List, Wait List and Medical Exam

The select list equals the number of vacancies, and a wait list of the same size is prepared. The wait list is valid for one year. Candidates who receive an offer must pass a medical examination.

How Many Candidates Are Called for the Skill Test or Interview?

Vacancies in the Post (Category)Candidates Called – URCandidates Called – Reserved
155
2810
31015
41220
5 to 102 × vacancies + 45 × vacancies
More than 101.5 × vacancies (rounded up) + 3, minimum 245 × vacancies

For example, PRT has 23 UR vacancies, so 38 UR candidates will be called (23 × 1.5 = 34.5, rounded up to 35, plus 3). The 38 OBC vacancies in PRT mean up to 190 OBC candidates can be called. Note that reserved-category candidates applying against UR vacancies get no relaxation in CBT marks.

For a stage-by-stage walkthrough, including what the skill test committee looks for in a chalk-and-board demonstration and how the wait list is operated, read our AEES Teacher Selection Process 2026 guide.

10. CBT Exam Pattern

The CBT has three patterns: one for Principal, one for Vice-Principal, and a common 120-mark paper for PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, PRT (Music) and Balvatika Teacher. Every question carries one mark and there is no negative marking, so you should attempt every question.

The subject section alone is worth 62.5% of the paper. To clear the 60% cut-off on 72 marks, a UR candidate who scores only half of the general sections (15 of 30) would need 57 of 90 in Teaching Methodology and subject combined.

PwBD candidates eligible for compensatory time get 20 extra minutes per hour of the test. A mock CBT link is provided in the candidate login after admit cards are issued, and the detailed post-wise syllabus is published on the AEES portal.

For the complete subject-wise syllabus, the share of questions from each topic, and a preparation plan built around the 75-mark subject section, see our AEES Teacher Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2026 page.

11. How to Apply

Applications are accepted only online at the AEES portal, aees.onlineregistrationforms.com, between 2 and 22 November 2026. No other mode is accepted, and you do not need to post the printout anywhere.

1
Register with a Personal Email and Mobile Number

Use an email address and mobile number that will stay active until the recruitment ends. Admit cards and skill test call letters are available only in your login and are not sent by email or post.

2
Choose the Post Carefully

Select the post from the drop-down. Within PGT you can apply for only one subject, and within TGT only one subject, even if you are qualified in more. You may apply for posts in different groups, such as one PGT and one TGT, with a separate fee for each.

3
Fill Personal and Category Details

Enter your name, parents' names and date of birth exactly as in your Class X certificate. Category, gender and other particulars cannot be changed after the examination.

4
Enter Qualifications and Posting Preferences

List every qualification, including additional ones you hold or are pursuing; anything not declared here will not be entered in your service record. Give your order of preference for AEES centres.

5
Upload Scanned Documents

Upload your photograph, signature and certificates scanned with a proper scanner, not a phone camera. Follow the size and format instructions on the portal.

6
Pay the Fee and Save the Confirmation Page

Pay online and wait for the confirmation page. Without it the application is treated as incomplete and is rejected. Keep the printout; you must bring it, signed on every page with a photograph affixed, to the skill test or interview.

Only castes in the Central Government list are considered.

For a field-by-field walkthrough of the application form, the photograph and signature specifications, and the most common reasons AEES rejects applications, read our How to Apply for AEES Teacher Recruitment 2026 guide.

12. CBT Exam Centres

The CBT will be held in 44 cities across India, while the skill test and interview take place only at AEES, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai. AEES will try to allot your chosen city but can cancel a city or shift candidates to another one.

13. Medical Fitness & Probation

Candidates who receive an offer of appointment are medically examined and must be in good mental and physical health to perform their duties; anyone found unfit is not appointed. There is no physical efficiency or physical standard test for any post in this notification, including TGT P&HE.

Selected candidates serve a probation of two years, which the competent authority may extend. During probation, AEES can terminate services without assigning a reason. PwBD candidates must also produce a certificate from an appropriate medical authority confirming that they meet the functional requirements of the post, at the skill test or interview stage.

14. General Instructions

These are the conditions in Notification 01/2026 most likely to cost candidates their place if overlooked.

  • Police Verification Certificate: bring a PVC from your local police station, not older than 6 months from the closing date, to the skill test or interview. If you do not have it, bring the acknowledged application for it. Candidates with neither are not allowed to appear.
  • Serving employees: inform your employer before applying and bring an original No Objection Certificate with vigilance clearance at document verification, or your candidature is cancelled.

AEES Teacher Recruitment 2026 — 254 Vacancies Apply Online

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The last date for online application and fee payment is 22 November 2026, 11:50 PM. Applications opened on 2 November 2026 at 10:00 AM on the AEES portal, aees.onlineregistrationforms.com. Eligibility is judged as on 22 November 2026 even if the date is later extended.

AEES Notification 01/2026 has 254 tentative vacancies: 4 Principal, 1 Vice-Principal, 27 PGT, 102 TGT, 13 Librarian, 89 PRT, 10 PRT (Music) and 8 Balvatika Teacher. Category-wise, there are 112 UR, 68 OBC, 33 SC, 25 EWS and 16 ST posts, with 12 reserved for PwBD candidates.

Yes for PRT (CTET Paper-I) and for TGT English, Social Studies, Hindi-Sanskrit, Maths-Physics, Chemistry-Biology and Marathi (CTET Paper-II). CTET is not required for PGT, Principal, Vice-Principal, Librarian, PRT (Music), Balvatika, TGT P&HE and TGT Art. The notification is inconsistent on TGT Computer Science, whose essential qualification does not list CTET; confirm on the AEES portal if this affects you.

The upper age limit is 40 years for PGT, 35 years for TGT and Librarian, and 30 years for PRT, PRT (Music) and Balvatika Teacher, counted on 22 November 2026. Principal must be 35–50 and Vice-Principal 35–45. SC/ST get 5 years and OBC (NCL) 3 years of relaxation against reserved vacancies.

Yes. Women of all categories get a 10-year relaxation for PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT and Balvatika Teacher posts, but not for Principal or Vice-Principal. Relaxations do not add up: if you qualify for several, only the single highest applies, so an SC woman applying for PRT gets 10 years, not 15.

The fee is ₹1,000 per post (₹750 application fee + ₹250 processing fee) plus GST. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from the ₹750 fee but must pay the ₹250 processing fee plus GST. Payment is online only and is not refundable.

No. Within PGT you can apply for only one subject, and within TGT only one subject, even if you are qualified in more. You may apply for posts in different groups, for example one PGT and one TGT, but you must pay the fee separately for each post.

These are regular posts in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Entry basic pay is ₹47,600 for PGT (Level 8), ₹44,900 for TGT and Librarian (Level 7) and ₹35,400 for PRT, PRT Music and Balvatika (Level 6), plus DA, HRA and other allowances. Figures such as ₹35,750 or ₹27,625 seen online belong to separate AEES contract posts.

All candidates take a Computer Based Test. Principal and Vice-Principal then face an interview, with final merit based on CBT and interview in a 50:50 ratio. All other posts take a chalk-and-board skill test on a Go/No-Go basis, and final merit is based on CBT marks alone. Selected candidates must pass a medical examination.

The CBT has 120 multiple-choice questions for 120 marks in 2 hours with no negative marking. It covers General English, General Hindi, Reasoning, General Knowledge, Computer Literacy and Numerical Ability (5 marks each), Teaching Methodology (15 marks) and the concerned subject (75 marks).

Candidates must score 60% for UR and EWS vacancies and 54% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD vacancies to be shortlisted. If too few candidates qualify, AEES may lower these, but not below 55% and 49% respectively. Qualifying alone does not guarantee a skill test call; candidates are called in merit order based on fixed ratios.

The CBT is held in 44 cities across India, including Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Patna. The skill test and interview are held only at AEES, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai. Outstation SC/ST candidates get travel fare for the skill test or interview.
