1. What Is the IOCL Pipelines Apprentice Recruitment 2026?
The IOCL Pipelines Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is a one-year, merit-only apprenticeship drive in which Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) will engage 500 apprentices across 90 pipeline locations in 20 States and Union Territories, with online applications open from 6 November 2026 to 5 December 2026. There is no written test and no interview — seats are allotted purely on the aggregate percentage scored in the qualifying Diploma, Degree or Class 12 examination.
The drive was notified under Advertisement No. PL/HR/ESTB/APPR (2026) dated 6 November 2026 and covers seven trades: three Technician Apprentice disciplines for Diploma holders (Mechanical, Electrical, and Telecommunication & Instrumentation), two Trade Apprentice roles for graduates (Assistant-Human Resource and Accountant), and two Data Entry Operator tracks for Class 12 pass candidates. Engagement happens under the Apprentices Act, 1961, which means this is paid on-the-job training — not a permanent job.
This is IOCL Pipelines Division's second apprentice cycle of calendar year 2026. Most pages still ranking for this search describe the earlier January 2026 edition (394 seats, applications closed on 10 February 2026). If you are reading about dates in January or February, you are looking at the old notice. This guide covers only the November 2026 edition and explains, with numbers, what is different.
Editorial Note: This article is prepared by the Vacancy Vedika Editorial Team from the official IOCL Pipelines Division notice dated 6 November 2026. Where the notice is silent — for example, on the exact stipend amount or date-of-birth windows — we have worked out figures from the Apprenticeship Rules and clearly marked them as our interpretation. The official notice and any corrigendum on IOCL's apprenticeship page always prevail over this guide.
Three things make this edition worth reading carefully rather than skimming. First, the application is split across two portals, and the Establishment ID you must use depends on the region, not the state — four states are served by two different regions. Second, the notice does not print a stipend figure, so we decode it from the revised statutory minimums. Third, several common profiles — a Diploma holder now studying B.Tech, a candidate who qualified in 2021, a Class 12 pass candidate finishing graduation — are silently disqualified. Each of these is covered below.
2. About IndianOil's Pipelines Division
IndianOil's Pipelines Division operates India's largest oil pipeline network, moving crude oil from ports to refineries and finished fuels from refineries to demand centres. According to IOCL, the network now spans more than 20,000 km of crude, petroleum product and gas pipelines, with an installed throughput capacity of around 130 MMTPA for liquids and 49 MMSCMD for gas. The division became a separate business unit in January 1998 and is headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
For an apprentice, this matters in a practical way: most training locations in this notice are pump stations, terminals and tap-off points sitting on trunk lines such as Salaya–Mathura, Kandla–Bhatinda, Paradip–Haldia–Barauni and Mundra–Panipat. Many are in smaller towns — Viramgam, Radhanpur, Najibabad, Madarihat, Khunti, Asanur — rather than metros. A Technician Apprentice at such a station typically learns rotating equipment, cathodic protection, SCADA-based monitoring and electrical sub-station upkeep, which is industry exposure a classroom Diploma rarely provides.

3. Important Dates and the 30 November Cut-Off
Applications run for 30 days, from 6 November 2026 to 5 December 2026, on both the NATS/NAPS portal and the IOCL Pipelines portal. However, the date that decides your eligibility is 30 November 2026 — five days before the last date.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Notification date | 6 November 2026 |
| Applying against IOCL opening on NATS/NAPS portal | 6 November – 5 December 2026 |
| Part-I & Part-II registration on IOCL Pipelines portal | 6 November – 5 December 2026 |
| Cut-off date for age, qualification and OBC-NCL validity | 30 November 2026 |
| Last date to submit online application | 5 December 2026 |
| List for Document Verification & Medical Fitness | To be published on IOCL website (date not announced) |
| Training duration | 12 months from date of engagement |
Deadline Alert: If your final-semester or Class 12 result is declared between 1 and 5 December 2026, the portal will still accept your form — but you will not be eligible, because the notice requires the qualification to be passed on or before 30 November 2026. Candidates whose results are awaited on the cut-off date cannot apply.
Plan for the slowest step, not the fastest. Profile corrections on NATS or NAPS (wrong percentage, wrong category, misspelt name) have to be raised with the respective regional office and can take days. Treat 28 November 2026 as your personal deadline for the NATS/NAPS step so that the IOCL portal step is not squeezed.
4. Region-Wise and State-Wise Vacancy Details
The 500 seats are spread over five pipeline regions: Western Region Pipelines (149), Eastern Region Pipelines (116), Northern Region Pipelines (110), South Eastern Region Pipelines (79) and Southern Region Pipelines (46). The notice describes these numbers as tentative and gives only state-level totals — it does not publish a trade-wise or category-wise (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) split.

State-wise totals after merging both regions
Because Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand each appear under two regions, the true state totals differ from what a quick look at the notice suggests. Combined, Gujarat (83), Uttar Pradesh (62), Rajasthan (53), Odisha (49) and West Bengal (45) hold 292 seats — 58.4% of the entire drive.
| State / UT | Combined Seats | Share of 500 |
|---|---|---|
| Gujarat | 83 | 16.6% |
| Uttar Pradesh (ERPL 30 + NRPL 32) | 62 | 12.4% |
| Rajasthan (WRPL 48 + NRPL 5) | 53 | 10.6% |
| Odisha | 49 | 9.8% |
| West Bengal | 45 | 9.0% |
| Tamil Nadu | 38 | 7.6% |
| Haryana | 29 | 5.8% |
| Bihar | 25 | 5.0% |
| Punjab | 21 | 4.2% |
| Andhra Pradesh (SRPL 3 + SERPL 14) | 17 | 3.4% |
| Assam / Delhi / Maharashtra | 13 each | 2.6% each |
| Chhattisgarh | 8 | 1.6% |
| Jharkhand (ERPL 3 + SERPL 3) | 6 | 1.2% |
| Madhya Pradesh / Himachal Pradesh / Uttarakhand / Karnataka / Telangana | 5 each | 1.0% each |
| Total | 500 | 100% |
Reading the small numbers: Several region-state pools have only 3 to 5 seats to share among seven trades — Chittoor (3), Jassisdih (3), Khunti (3), Ratlam (5), Una (5), Roorkee (5), Bengaluru (5), Hyderabad (5). In such pools, some trades may receive no seat at all. Before applying, open the IOCL opening on your NATS or NAPS dashboard and check whether a seat for your trade is actually listed against that region.
5. What Changed Since the January 2026 Edition
The November 2026 notice offers 106 more seats than IOCL Pipelines Division's January 2026 drive — an increase of about 27% (394 to 500) — and doubles the application window from 14 days to 30 days. The single biggest change is in the Northern Region, which more than doubled from 54 to 110 seats.
| Region | Jan 2026 Edition | Nov 2026 Edition | Change | % Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eastern Region (ERPL) | 101 | 116 | +15 | +14.9% |
| Western Region (WRPL) | 136 | 149 | +13 | +9.6% |
| Northern Region (NRPL) | 54 | 110 | +56 | +103.7% |
| Southern Region (SRPL) | 40 | 46 | +6 | +15.0% |
| South Eastern Region (SERPL) | 63 | 79 | +16 | +25.4% |
| Total | 394 | 500 | +106 | +26.9% |
The states that gained most
Comparing the state rows of both notices, the Northern Region's jump is driven almost entirely by two states: Uttar Pradesh (NRPL) rose from 8 to 32 seats and Haryana from 11 to 29. Delhi nearly doubled (7 to 13). In the east, Odisha gained 12 seats (37 to 49) and West Bengal 7 (38 to 45). Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh (SERPL) and Jharkhand (ERPL) are unchanged.
| State (Region) | Jan 2026 | Nov 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uttar Pradesh (NRPL) | 8 | 32 | +24 |
| Haryana (NRPL) | 11 | 29 | +18 |
| Odisha (SERPL) | 37 | 49 | +12 |
| West Bengal (ERPL) | 38 | 45 | +7 |
| Gujarat (WRPL) | 77 | 83 | +6 |
| Rajasthan (WRPL) | 42 | 48 | +6 |
| Delhi (NRPL) | 7 | 13 | +6 |
| Tamil Nadu (SRPL) | 33 | 38 | +5 |
| Bihar (ERPL) | 21 | 25 | +4 |
| Assam, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand | 10 / 5 / 2 | 13 / 8 / 5 | +3 each |

Why does the earlier edition matter to you? Because the notice bars anyone who has already undergone, or is currently undergoing, apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act. If you were engaged through the January 2026 drive — or any other NATS/NAPS apprenticeship — you cannot apply again here. If you applied in January but were not selected, the November edition is a genuine second chance, and your age and qualification will simply be re-tested against the new 30 November 2026 cut-off.
Note: January 2026 state and region figures are taken from published summaries of that earlier notice and should be read as indicative.
6. Trade-Wise Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is decided trade by trade: a 3-year full-time Diploma for the three Technician trades, a full-time Bachelor's degree for Assistant-HR, a full-time B.Com for Accountant, and Class 12 pass (but not a graduate) for both Data Entry Operator tracks. Every candidate must be an Indian national, and the qualification must be passed by 30 November 2026.

- Register on: NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in)
Correction to circulating information: Some websites list "10th pass / ITI" as the Data Entry Operator qualification. That is not what this notice says. Both DEO tracks require at least Class 12 pass. ITI-only candidates without Class 12 are not eligible for these trades.
The notice prescribes the 50% (45% relaxed) aggregate rule explicitly for Graduate and Diploma holders. For the two Data Entry Operator tracks, it states only "minimum 12th pass" without a percentage floor, so a Class 12 pass with any marks meets the eligibility bar — though ranking is still on percentage, so low scores are unlikely to make the merit list.
For the full trade-to-discipline matrix, a check on which Diploma branches are excluded (Civil, Computer, Chemical), and how to read "Govt. recognised institute" for private polytechnics, see our IOCL Pipelines Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026 guide.7. Who Cannot Apply: Seven Disqualification Traps
Seven profiles are excluded by this notice even though their marks and age look fine. Each of them can be rejected at document verification — after weeks of waiting — so check yourself against this list before you apply.
| # | Profile | Why It Is Disqualified | Who Is Most Often Caught |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Diploma holder currently pursuing B.E./B.Tech (including lateral entry) | Pursuing a higher qualification, or completing it before joining, makes the candidate ineligible; suppression leads to termination even after engagement | Technician Apprentice applicants |
| 2 | Qualification acquired more than five years before 30 November 2026 | Candidates who completed five years after acquiring the prescribed qualification are excluded | Older reserved-category candidates who are still within the relaxed age limit |
| 3 | One year or more of job experience or training after qualifying | The notice bars candidates with 12 months or more of post-qualification experience or training | Diploma holders working on contract at plants |
| 4 | Earlier or ongoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act | Any past or current NATS/NAPS apprenticeship disqualifies | Candidates engaged in the January 2026 or other PSU drives |
| 5 | Part-time, correspondence or distance-mode qualification | Only regular full-time courses are accepted | B.Com/BA graduates from open universities |
| 6 | Holder of BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA or equivalent | Treated as higher professional qualification | Graduates applying for Assistant-HR or Accountant |
| 7 | Class 12 pass who becomes a graduate before joining (for DEO tracks) | DEO trades are only for candidates "below graduate"; completing a degree before engagement breaks eligibility | Final-year BA/B.Sc/B.Com students applying as DEO |
How the five-year rule works in practice
Read literally, a candidate who acquired the qualification on or before 30 November 2021 has completed five years by the cut-off date and is out. A qualification acquired from 1 December 2021 onwards is within the window. "Date of acquiring" is generally taken as the result declaration date shown on the final mark sheet or certificate — this is our interpretation, so if your result date falls close to 30 November 2021, write to your region's apprentice email (listed in Section 16) before applying.
This rule quietly cancels much of the age relaxation for older candidates. An SC candidate aged 28 is within the relaxed age limit of 29, but if that candidate finished a Diploma in 2019, the five-year rule disqualifies them anyway.
Warning: The notice explicitly says that hiding information about a higher qualification you hold or are pursuing makes you ineligible at any stage, and can lead to termination even after you have joined. There is no grace for "I only enrolled, I have not finished".
8. Age Limit, Relaxation and Date-of-Birth Windows
The base age limit is 18 to 24 years as on 30 November 2026, with upper-age relaxation of 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD candidates. OBC and SC/ST relaxation applies only when you are considered against a reserved seat; PwBD relaxation applies irrespective of reservation.
| Category | Upper Age Limit | Eligible if Born Between* |
|---|---|---|
| UR / EWS | 24 years | 1 December 2002 – 30 November 2008 |
| OBC (NCL) — reserved seat | 27 years | 1 December 1999 – 30 November 2008 |
| SC / ST — reserved seat | 29 years | 1 December 1997 – 30 November 2008 |
| PwBD (UR / EWS) | 34 years | 1 December 1992 – 30 November 2008 |
| PwBD + OBC (NCL) | 37 years | 1 December 1989 – 30 November 2008 |
| PwBD + SC / ST | 39 years | 1 December 1987 – 30 November 2008 |
*Date windows are Vacancy Vedika's calculation using the standard convention that "maximum N years" includes candidates who have not yet turned N + 1 on the cut-off date. Both ends are inclusive. The IOCL portal's own age validation is final.
Note: EWS candidates get seat reservation but no age relaxation under this notice. Also, an OBC candidate who falls in the creamy layer must apply as UR and therefore must satisfy the UR age limit of 24 years.
Your Class 10 (Matriculation) certificate or mark sheet is the only document IOCL accepts as proof of date of birth. If your NATS/NAPS profile shows a date of birth that differs from your Class 10 certificate — even by a day — get it corrected on the portal before you apply.
Need to know how the relaxations stack, whether ex-servicemen or J&K domicile get anything extra, and the exact OBC-NCL certificate format IOCL will accept? Read our IOCL Pipelines Apprentice Age Limit & Relaxation 2026 explainer.9. Stipend: What IOCL Apprentices Will Actually Be Paid
IOCL's notice does not print a rupee figure; it only says the stipend will follow the Apprentices Act, the Apprenticeship Rules and Corporation guidelines. Based on the revised statutory minimums now in force, the expected floor is ₹12,300 per month for the two graduate trades, ₹10,900 per month for the three Technician (Diploma) trades, and ₹9,600 per month for the two Data Entry Operator tracks.
Expected Minimum Monthly Stipend by Trade
Where these numbers come from
The Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025, notified through Gazette G.S.R. 610(E) and published on 11 September 2025, raised the minimum stipend for trade apprentices under NAPS — Class 12 pass-outs and National or State Certificate holders now get at least ₹9,600 per month. For NATS (graduate and diploma apprentices, run by the Ministry of Education through the Boards of Apprenticeship Training), circulars implemented revised rates from 1 April 2026: ₹12,300 for graduate/degree apprentices and ₹10,900 for diploma (technician) apprentices, up from ₹9,000 and ₹8,000.
| Trade | Portal / Scheme | Apprentice Category (Our Mapping) | Old Minimum | Revised Minimum | 12-Month Total (Minimum) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Assistant-HR, Accountant | NATS | Graduate / Degree | ₹9,000 | ₹12,300 | ₹1,47,600 |
| Technician (Mech / Elec / T&I) | NATS | Technician (Diploma) | ₹8,000 | ₹10,900 | ₹1,30,800 |
| Data Entry Operator (Fresher) | NAPS | School pass-out (Class 12) | ₹7,000 | ₹9,600 | ₹1,15,200 |
| Domestic Data Entry Operator | NAPS | Skill certificate holder (Class 12 base) | ₹7,000 | ₹9,600 | ₹1,15,200 |
Two caveats. First, these are statutory minimums; an employer may pay more, and the notice reserves the right to apply "Corporation's guidelines", so IOCL's actual figure could be higher. Second, the mapping of Assistant-HR and Accountant to the graduate rate is our inference: the notice calls them "Trade Apprentice", but routes them through NATS, where degree holders are engaged as graduate apprentices. Confirm the figure in your offer of engagement.
Who pays — and what you will not get
The stipend is shared between IOCL and the Government. Under NATS, the Central Government's share is credited to the apprentice through Direct Benefit Transfer — the scheme norm is 50%, though a Ministry of Education clarification indicates the central share may stay at the pre-revision ₹4,500 (graduate) and ₹4,000 (technician) per month until further orders, with the employer paying the balance. Under NAPS, the government share is ₹1,500 or 25% of the stipend. This is why your bank account must be Aadhaar-seeded — the government share is paid straight into it. Apart from the stipend, the notice rules out accommodation, HRA, conveyance and medical facilities. If you are allotted a location away from home, budget for rent and travel out of the stipend itself.
No job guarantee: The stipend is a training allowance, not a salary. IOCL has no obligation to employ apprentices after the 12 months, and completing the apprenticeship gives no claim to a job. Its value lies in the apprenticeship certificate and the plant experience, which count in later PSU recruitments.
10. Application Fee
The IOCL Pipelines Apprentice 2026 notice prescribes no application fee for any category. Registration on the NATS and NAPS portals is also free for candidates.
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| UR / EWS / OBC (NCL) | Nil |
| SC / ST / PwBD | Nil |
Fraud Alert: Any call, message or website asking for money to "confirm" an IOCL apprentice seat, process your form or guarantee selection is fraudulent. The notice warns that canvassing of any kind disqualifies the candidate.
11. Selection Process and Merit List Logic
Selection is entirely merit-based: IOCL ranks eligible applicants for each trade by the aggregate percentage of marks across all years or semesters of the essential qualification, then calls the top candidates for document verification and a pre-engagement medical. There is no written test and no personal interview.
Only candidates who applied against the IOCL opening on NATS or NAPS and completed both parts of registration on the IOCL Pipelines portal are considered. Shortlisting relies purely on the data you entered, so an error in your percentage directly changes your rank.
Candidates are arranged in descending order of aggregate percentage in the qualifying exam for the trade applied — the full Diploma or degree aggregate, not only the final year. Reservation is applied as per Government guidelines.
Provisionally shortlisted candidates receive a link on their registered email to choose a place for document verification and up to three preferred training locations within the applied state. Not submitting these choices means you are not called.
Original documents are checked and a pre-engagement medical fitness certificate is required. Any mismatch with the online form cancels the candidature.
Only candidates whose documents and medical certificate are in order receive an offer. The training location is allotted on merit, so a higher rank gets a better chance at the first preference.
Tie-break chain
| Order | If Candidates Are Tied On… | Preference Goes To |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | Aggregate % in essential qualification | The older candidate (earlier date of birth) |
| 2nd | Same date of birth | Higher percentage in Matriculation (Class 10) |
If your marksheet shows CGPA or a letter grade
You must enter the equivalent aggregate percentage in the online form using your board or university's own conversion norm, upload a certificate from the institution confirming that equivalence, and produce it at document verification. If your institution has no conversion formula, you need a certificate saying so; IOCL will then take the average of the grade scores across all semesters or years. For letter grades, an institutional certificate stating the equivalent percentage is mandatory — without it, the candidature is not considered. Ask your college for this letter now; it is the document most often missing at verification.
One more rule affects reserved seats: if EWS seats in a trade cannot be filled by EWS candidates, they go to UR candidates in merit order. SC, ST and OBC candidates who qualify on general standards can also be considered against UR seats.
For worked examples of CGPA-to-percentage conversion for common boards, how the tie-break plays out, and what happens to unfilled seats, see our IOCL Pipelines Apprentice Selection Process 2026 guide.12. How to Apply: The Two-Portal Process
Applying is a two-portal process that must be done in a fixed order: first apply to IOCL's opening on the NATS or NAPS portal (depending on your trade), then complete Part-I and Part-II registration on the IOCL Pipelines portal. Doing only one of the two means your application is incomplete and will be rejected.
Which portal is yours?
| Trade | Register On | Use Which Establishment ID |
|---|---|---|
| Technician Apprentice — Mechanical / Electrical / T&I | NATS 2.0 (nats.education.gov.in) | NATS ID of the region |
| Trade Apprentice — Assistant-HR / Accountant | NATS 2.0 (nats.education.gov.in) | NATS ID of the region |
| Data Entry Operator (Fresher) / Domestic DEO (Skill Certificate) | NAPS (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) | NAPS ID of the region |
Create your apprentice profile under your state, using an email ID and mobile number that will stay active for the full 12 months. Check that your name, date of birth, category, qualification and aggregate percentage are exactly right. Corrections can only be made by the NATS or NAPS office.
Log in, search for IOCL using the Establishment ID of the region that covers your preferred location (see Section 13), and apply to the opening for your trade between 6 November and 5 December 2026. Note your NATS or NAPS enrolment/registration number.
Go to plapps.indianoilpipelines.in, enter basic details such as name and category, and create your own password. A registration number is sent to your email and by SMS. Save it with your password.
Log in again with the registration number, enter your NATS or NAPS enrolment number, upload your photograph and signature, and fill in educational and experience details. Part-II is the final submission — nothing can be edited afterwards.
Download and print the submitted application. Watch your email for the preference link, and check the IOCL apprenticeship page regularly, since corrigenda and the shortlist are published only there.

One trade, one email, one mobile: You may apply for only one trade code. Applying for more than one gets every application summarily rejected. The same mobile number and email ID cannot be used by any other candidate either — so a cyber café or a sibling's number shared across forms can sink both applicants.
13. Establishment IDs and the Split-State Problem
IOCL has a separate NATS and NAPS Establishment ID for each of its five pipeline regions, and you must apply using the ID of the region that covers the location you want. This matters most in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand, where different cities belong to different regions.
| Region | NATS Establishment ID (Technician, HR, Accountant) | NAPS Establishment ID (DEO tracks) | Query Email |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL) | EWBKOC000079 | E11181900005 | erplapprentice@indianoil.in |
| Western Region Pipelines (WRPL) | WGJRAC000006 | E11182400087 | wrplapprentice@indianoil.in |
| Northern Region Pipelines (NRPL) | NHRPPC000001 | E12180600006 | nrplapprentice@indianoil.in |
| Southern Region Pipelines (SRPL) | STNCHC000040 | E12183300008 | srplapprentice@indianoil.in |
| South Eastern Region Pipelines (SERPL) | EORBBSC000001 | E02252100002 | serplapprentice@indianoil.in |
The four split states
| State | If You Want… | Region | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uttar Pradesh | Baitalpur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mughalsarai, Prayagraj | ERPL | 30 |
| Agra, Mathura, Meerut, Najibabad, Noida | NRPL | 32 | |
| Rajasthan | Abu Road, Beawar, Chaksu, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kot, Rajola | WRPL | 48 |
| Bharatpur | NRPL | 5 | |
| Andhra Pradesh | Chittoor | SRPL | 3 |
| Atchutapuram, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam | SERPL | 14 | |
| Jharkhand | Jassisdih | ERPL | 3 |
| Khunti | SERPL | 3 |
Pro Tip: Since you can apply for only one trade code, pick the region before you click "apply". A Lucknow-based Diploma holder who applies under the NRPL ID is competing for Agra, Mathura, Meerut, Najibabad and Noida — not Lucknow. Training preferences collected later are only within the applied state and region.
14. PwBD Trade Suitability Matrix
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (minimum 40% disability under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016) can apply, but each trade is open only to specific disability types. Assistant-Human Resource is the most inclusive trade; the three Technician trades are the most restricted.
| Disability Type | Technician (Mech / Elec / T&I) | Accountant | Assistant-HR | DEO / Domestic DEO |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leprosy cured, Dwarfism, Acid attack victim | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Hard of Hearing | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Musculoskeletal — One Leg / Both Legs | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Musculoskeletal — One Arm / One Arm & One Leg | No | No | Yes | No |
| Low Vision | No | No | Yes | No |
| Multiple disabilities | Allowed only as combinations of the types permitted for that trade | |||
The disability certificate must be in the prescribed format (Form V, VI or VII) under Rules 18(1) and 20 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017; formats are in the Downloads section of the IOCL Pipelines portal. Apart from the identified disability, PwBD candidates must meet all other medical standards, and they get a 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks (45% instead of 50%) when considered against reserved seats, plus up to 10 years of upper-age relaxation.
15. Document Verification and Medical Fitness
Originals are verified before joining, together with one self-attested photocopy of each and a passport-size photograph. The candidate list for document verification and medical fitness is published on IOCL's website; candidates whose documents or medical certificate are not in order do not receive an offer of engagement.
| Document | Purpose | Watch Out For |
|---|---|---|
| Class 10 / Matriculation certificate or mark sheet | Proof of date of birth | No other DOB proof is accepted |
| Semester-wise / year-wise mark sheets | Aggregate percentage check | All semesters must be present, including any backlog clearance sheets |
| Final Diploma / Degree / HSC certificate | Proof of passing | Must show passing on or before 30 November 2026 |
| CGPA / grade equivalence certificate | Percentage validation | Mandatory for grade-based marksheets |
| Caste certificate (SC/ST) | Reservation and relaxation | Govt. prescribed format, competent authority only |
| OBC-NCL certificate | Reservation and relaxation | Central List caste; not more than 12 months old from 30 November 2026 — in practice, issued on or after about 1 December 2025 |
| EWS / Disability certificate | Reservation and relaxation | Govt. format; disability in Form V/VI/VII |
| Aadhaar, PAN, first page of Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook, cancelled cheque | Stipend DBT and identity | Bank account must be Aadhaar-seeded |
| Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Certificate | Medical fitness | As per IOCL physical fitness guidelines |
Read the "Guidelines and Criteria for Physical Fitness for Pre-engagement Medical Examination" in the Downloads section of the IOCL Pipelines portal before applying. It is far cheaper to discover a vision or hearing standard issue now than after travelling to a verification centre.
OBC candidates: IOCL is a Central PSU, so only castes in the Central List of OBCs for your state count, and the certificate must carry the non-creamy layer declaration as per the DoPT format. A state-list-only OBC certificate will not get you OBC reservation or relaxation.
16. General Conditions, Query Emails and Jurisdiction
Beyond eligibility, the notice sets several conditions that govern the whole engagement. The most important ones are summarised here in plain language.
- All updates, corrigenda and shortlists are published only on IOCL's apprenticeship page — check it regularly.
- Applications that are incomplete, submitted in any other mode, or received after 5 December 2026 are treated as rejected.
- Candidature is provisional until documents are verified; false or suppressed information leads to cancellation at any stage, or termination after engagement.
- Engagement depends on being declared medically fit by IOCL.
- Applying, attending verification or being empanelled does not confer a right to engagement; IOCL may leave seats unfilled.
- Keep the same email ID and mobile number until the apprenticeship ends.
- Only the stipend is paid — no accommodation, HRA, conveyance or medical facility.
- IOCL has no obligation to offer employment after the apprenticeship ends.
- Engagement terms follow the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The November 2026 notice (Advt. No. PL/HR/ESTB/APPR (2026)) offers 500 apprentice seats: Western Region 149, Eastern Region 116, Northern Region 110, South Eastern Region 79 and Southern Region 46. This is 106 more than the January 2026 edition, which had 394 seats.
The last date is 5 December 2026. Both steps — applying to the IOCL opening on the NATS/NAPS portal and completing Part-I and Part-II registration on plapps.indianoilpipelines.in — must be finished between 6 November and 5 December 2026.
No. There is no written test and no interview. IOCL prepares a merit list using the aggregate percentage of all years or semesters of your qualifying Diploma, Degree or Class 12, followed by document verification and a pre-engagement medical.
The notice does not print a figure. Based on revised statutory minimums, expect at least ₹12,300 per month for Assistant-HR and Accountant (graduates), ₹10,900 for Technician apprentices (Diploma), and ₹9,600 for the two Data Entry Operator tracks. IOCL may pay more; confirm in your offer letter.
Use the ID of the region covering your preferred location. NATS IDs (Technician, HR, Accountant): ERPL EWBKOC000079, WRPL WGJRAC000006, NRPL NHRPPC000001, SRPL STNCHC000040, SERPL EORBBSC000001. NAPS IDs (DEO tracks): ERPL E11181900005, WRPL E11182400087, NRPL E12180600006, SRPL E12183300008, SERPL E02252100002.
Four states are split. Uttar Pradesh: Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj side is ERPL; Agra, Mathura, Meerut, Noida side is NRPL. Rajasthan: Bharatpur is NRPL, the rest WRPL. Andhra Pradesh: Chittoor is SRPL; Vizag, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Atchutapuram are SERPL. Jharkhand: Jassisdih is ERPL, Khunti is SERPL.
Candidates must be 18 to 24 years as on 30 November 2026 (born roughly between 1 December 2002 and 30 November 2008 for UR/EWS). Upper age relaxation is 3 years for OBC-NCL, 5 years for SC/ST against reserved seats, and 10 years for PwBD.
No. The notice disqualifies candidates who hold or are pursuing a higher qualification such as BE/B.Tech, and suppression of this information can lead to termination even after joining. This includes lateral-entry B.Tech students.
No. Both Data Entry Operator tracks require at least Class 12 pass and the candidate must be below graduate level. The Domestic DEO track additionally needs an NSQF-recognised Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate.
Candidates who qualified more than five years before 30 November 2026, those with one year or more of post-qualification experience or training, anyone who has done or is doing an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, part-time or distance-mode qualification holders, and holders of BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB or MCA are ineligible.
No application fee is prescribed for any category. Anyone asking for money to process an application or guarantee a seat is running a fraud; canvassing of any kind disqualifies the candidate.
No. The apprenticeship lasts 12 months and IOCL has no obligation to offer employment afterwards. Apart from the stipend, no accommodation, HRA, conveyance or medical facility is provided.
